TheRoot.Com is a Great Website or Blog for finding current and frequently updated news and information related to a wide variety of frequently updated articles and information on "All Matters Black." It deals with contemporary news issues, politics from a Black (and generally progressive) perspective, and touches on many areas of Cultural and Historical events in American History.
While my blogging tends to be more focused on articles and opinions I generate in which I react to events and politics I observe or learn about as I travel the internet, theRoot.com tends to be more in the nature of factual reporting of news.

CNN Politics - A Great Source for Progressive News and Info

Ever since I became more socially aware and started to share of myself as a politician and community activist, I have relied greatly on the news and commentary which I found on CNN cable news. In fact, CNN is my first "go-to" for information and discussions of topics of interest to progressives/liberals like myself. Even when I am on the internet, I often "multi-task and have CNN playing on my TV while I am thinking, posting, commenting...
I have always highly recommended CNN highly, and I appreciate the dedication of this news source to honoring the value of facts, truth, reality, and willingness to be critical and analytical when discussing politics, and race relations, you have it!
And Remember... "An Apple is NOT a Banana!" ;-)
Lately, there has been a change in management at CNN and they have "moderated" their news coverage. I have started to spend more time on MSNBC for my political news and commentary...

This News Website is one of The Favorites that I Visit Often Every Day to Find Out First What is Going On In US Politics and Related News and Opinions. The news blog and opinions are generally pretty objective and information and articles are quickly "updated" as stories evolve and political and government officials react to developing events.
Most of the information is given from an objective or centrist position, and access to information is quick and easy, and readily searchable.
I highly recommend this website as a source of news and commentary. I find that the information provided on this website is usually vetted for accuracy and factual truth. The "opinions" of guest writers can be all over the spectrum though.
Now if only we could find some way to avoid all those frivolous paid posts from NewsMax!SMH
MSNBC and R. Maddow Often Deliver from Progressive Viewpoint

I find many of the news stories and blogs presented by MSNBC to be thought-provoking and informative. Some of their commentators and bloggers and anchors are very intelligent, possess good critical thinking and investigative characteristics, and can present news with the progressive spin that I find helpful. I watch MSNBC less often, but I admire Rachel Maddow's work and zeal to follow stories with explanations to their logical conclusions. I also like to listen to commentary by Morning Joe Scarborough and Joy Reid...

There is another source of news commentary that has begun to grab my attention more and more recently. It is PoliticusUSA.com. Politicus USA describes itself as follows:
